Fallyrag

There is an overwhelming galactic quality to the artwork of drfranken, whom Fallyrag excitedly welcomes back to its pages this week for a second feature.

The colours burst across the page and are coupled by imagery so striking that it can have the efficacy of making one flinch. Whirling, twisting metallic shapes coil around drfranken's figures. And, it is this imagery, this alien ambience to his work that means drfranken isn't merely recording what he sees around him, but showing you a completely new world – stepping beyond, as it were.

Maximising the benefit of coupling digital image manipulation and photography, drfranken is able to harness work that is both alien and yet totally believable. This is supported by the fact that the use of his robotic figures share enough human movement and expression to sympathise with; enabling a relationship with the viewer. A sense of movement and growth gives the impression that we are being treated to a phenomenal snap-shot of an exploding event. The creativity required to build such engaging environments is startling - the skill to put it all into practice, breathtaking.

drfranken’s work is always a treat to behold and never encompasses a dull moment. Follow him from the artist profile page by clicking his name at the top of this feature.
