Egyptian Art Director, designer and illustrator based in Cairo, Egypt.
I was born in Cairo in 1978, and in my early twenties, I started my career as a self-taught designer, experimenting with design and typography. In 2003, I founded FC Studio agency (AKA Fileclub) with four of my colleagues (www.fileclub.org).
In less than three years the agency was able to draw the attention and to serve a large number of significant clients such as Levis, Vodafone, Bang and Olufsen Egypt, Etisalat Dubai, T.A. Telecom, Al-Karma, Goethe institute and Japan Foundation.
Three years later, I was invited by Equinox Graphics, to work as the creative director of both print and new-media departments. Equinox is one of the most creative graphic studios in Egypt and, working there, I had the chance to guide and supervise the projects of the company’s most important clients. Diwan, Cilantro, YPO, Tikka, Egyptian Airport Company, The British International School in Cairo, The British Council and P.I.Parks are among the list of clients that I directed projects for.
In 2008, I started working as a freelancer for international and local clients such as SEE Foundation, Orient Production, and George Jewelry. Meanwhile, I’m running “Spaghetti” (www.spaghettimag.com), an online magazine that explores the world of design, illustration and photography.
I’ve been mentioned in various design magazines for my work among them Ego Magazine and New Web Pick, E-magazine, and awarded by several design websites such as Plastic Pilot and Lounge72.
