Print-maker Helen Bridges presents us with a unique style never-before-seen on Fallyrag. Her intriguing prints display a sporadic thought pattern - mapped out for the viewer to pick up at any familiar point and continue the journey with the artist. Unfamiliar processes can be even more rewarding, as the viewer finds themselves following the thoughts of the artist herself.

“When elements are taken out of their context- be it a building, an object, a drawing, a memory, a dream or a recorded moment - they take on a whole new meaning. They draw attention to themselves and prompt a thought process - an inquisitiveness to the viewer.”

Helen’s versatility as an artist is clearly demonstrated. Each print carries its own style varying from thick, heavy marks to delicate and intricate illustration. Many follow the linear pattern of thought although other, more intense, less coherent thoughts, are assembled in a scramble of symbols and objects.

Text is also an important element. It pulls the viewer across the print, expertly controlling their experience of a piece. Controlling their thought process. A clear awareness of typographic hierarchy is on show here with varying sizes and strength of text used in this thought-control.
