Les Fauves

Liquid Modernity is the second chapter in Les Fauves' brilliant trilogy. Recorded and produced by the band themselves in a garage in Sassuolo (Italy) it beautifully shows off their wild and creative nature.

The lyrics all focus on current issues, including the lack of ideals, financial insecurity, relationships and Spirituality; combinations unique to the modern world.

Les Fauves break barriers - not only geographic ones, but also in terms of musical genres, as their recent collaboration with techno dub Londoner Swayzak for the K7 label attests. They have also collaborated with film director Zanasi, contributing to the soundtrack for the film "Non Pensarci" (starring Mastrandrea, Murino, Battistion...) which was critically acclaimed at the 2008 edition of the Venice Film Festival and was in theatres throughout Europe that same year.

Roberto Papavero (guitar and vox) and Davide Caselli (drums) formed the band in Sassuolo in 2004, and were later joined by bassist Silvia Dallari.  They’ve since gained wide recognition from media and fans alike, bringing their highly personal sound to various festivals, including SXSW 2009, Benicassim (Spain), Heineken Jammin Festival (Italy) and have opened for Dirty Pretty Things and Gnarls Barley

With the addition of keyboardist Paolo Pugliese, the band recorded "Our Dildo Can Change Your Life"; a 6-track EP produced by Giacomo Fiorenza and published by Urtovox Records.

After a long European tour and almost 100 gigs throughout Italy, the band recorded their debut album, the first of a trilogy, entitled "NALT-1 A Fast Introduction" (where N.A.L.T. stands for NOISE ARMS LIMITATION TALKS).  Available in record stores throughout Italy since November 2007, it was recorded and produced at Alpha Dept Studio in Bologna, by Giacomo Fiorenza and distributed by Urtovox.  The album received notable media attention within Italy and abroad thanks to its European distribution by Cargo Records, as well as to two European tours, which saw the band perform in Belgium, Germany, France, Holland and England.

Les Fauves have recorded the second chapter in their N.A.L.T. trilogy - "NALT 2 - Liquid Modernity" which will be out in the UK on the 26th October. The band have recently moved to London and will be playing a series of UK dates to support their new album later this year.
