Dark Alley Gospel

Dark Alley Gospel, otherwise known as Travis Gosselin, can only really be described as the sound of a pitch black forest, most likely one featured in an Angela Carter story. Gosselin originally started out as a folk musician, and though the guitar still features heavily in his music this ain’t no Nick Drake album.

He uses primal, earthy beats and synthesized strings and piano to create a heavy sound that conjures up images of dystopic landscapes and oozes the feeling of early 21st century paranoia.  Gosselin’s distorted guitar creeps over proceedings with a preternatural elegance, both eerie and beautiful at the same time. Definitely one for fans of dark ambient music.
