Festival Preview
Out of the Ordinary (OOTOpia) festival is a three-day celebration of the Autumnal Equinox which takes place on the beautiful Sussex Downs. It promises to be one of the hidden gems in this season's gamete of eclectic festivals. OOTOpia also ranks alongside Sunrise Celebration as one of the most ethically and environmentally sound festivals making an appearance this year.
You'll be "stepping into another dimension - a place of incredible music, wisdom, ancient knowledge, healing, inspiration and love." There is a deep appreciation for the sacred and the event is also being run in association with The Antiquarian Society.
In a fitting act of reverence 'the Sun' will be the headline attraction at OOTOpia and will be performing the age-old classic 'Sun rise' from the famous Peace Circle - a stone circle in celebration of world peace. The Autumnal Equinox represents the Sun's passage and it's moment of equilibrium with the dark in our cycle of days. An extremely spiritual date in our calendars.
OOTOpia is both a family and a community event. As well as providing a wide-range of talks and workshops, they'll be an ethical market with local foods, wines and ales. Live bands, DJ's, circus skills, fire dancing and drumming will be providing entertainment alongside films, drama, poetry, singing and dancing.
There is something very enticing about "enchanted woods, healing and well being." Then when you realise it's also being billed as the "hottest and driest weekend of the year" and with the possibility of "extremely rare atmospheric phenomena occurring" OOTOpia seems to magical to miss.
