Festival Preview
Newfoundland is a contemporary arts and music festival, taking place in the secret heart of Wales. A collaboration between Welsh, English and international arts & music collectives, it’s a social initiative that aims to create a crossover between the visual arts, literature, live, acoustic and electronic music – a fusion of contemporary ideas.
By building this crossover, Newfoundland aims to develop audiences for the arts within groups that may not usually access them. Seeking to exhibit the work of local and international artists in every medium, in a setting which celebrates the Welsh landscape, it is designed as an exciting and inclusive festival, showcasing the diversity of contemporary culture.
Newfoundland has run annually since 2005 as a private event, open to the members of the online communities established by its organisations. Opening the festival as a public event, our goal has been to strengthen its links with the local community, to share what we have already established, and to better it through greater participation. Newfoundland is a not-for-profit event.
