The Rested Moon

Tip-toeing angels upon our souls,

Don’t shatter our dreams, suspend them whole.

Count the stars to fall asleep,

The mellow moon we wish to keep.

Precious; the parting mists of sight,

Which hold our bodies and wrap up tight,

So then we can lay our thoughts afar

And leave the door to tomorrow still ajar.

The circles of our breath unwind in a beat

As our lives take leave and take their seat.

Praise to the quiet, it sings a sweet tune,

Bathing in the whispers of a peaceful, rested moon.
